Thank you for selecting us to take care of your dental needs. We take pride in the quality of care and service we provide you.
The tooth that was prepared for the crown is protected with a temporary covering until the permanent crown is constructed in a special dental laboratory. It will be custom fit for maximum comfort, strength and function and made from the highest quality dental materials.
While the temporary is in place, try and avoid sticky and very hard foods. It is still important to brush and keep the area clean to minimize swelling or gum shrinkage. We do all we can to minimize any post-operative soreness, but occasionally the tooth we worked on may be sensitive until the permanent crown is cemented in. If so, aspirin, Tylenol or Advil should give you relief. If you gums feel tender a salt water rinse (1 tsp/glass of warm water) will help give relief. The permanent crown should give you years of comfort, function and be very esthetic.
Please call our office if you have any additional questions. The longevity of the work is dependent not only on the quality of our work but also on proper care including brushing, flossing and regular preventative maintenance cleanings.
